What Is Delta 8?
As mentioned above, the Delta-8 isomer is similar to the Delta-9 isomer but the molecular structure is different as Delta-8 has a double carbon bond in the 8th position which makes it less potent. Both isomers deliver the “high” feeling of relaxation and euphoria but Delta-8 is known to have less anxiety or paranoia.
Is It Legal?
Delta-8 is federally legal based on the hemp definition as defined by the Cannabis sativa L plant including the seeds thereof and all derivatives, extracts, cannabinoids, isomers, acids, salts, and salts of isomers, whether growing or not, with a Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol concentration of not more than three-tenths of one percent (0.3%) on a dry weight basis. Even though the federal hemp definition defines the origin and process, certain states have implemented Delta-8 bans or have included the cannabinoid into state sponsored marijuana programs.
